We WoW'ed in our Little Black Dresses!

Posted By Victoria WoW November 18th, 2013

When we said Ladies' Night Out, WoW did we deliver!

WoW's November event was our chance to get gussied up in our favourite Little Black Dresses, and put into practice last month's lessons in making a great first impression. And make a great impression we certainly did.

The event's Showcase Sponsors made the best impressions of all.

The gorgeous Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Empress offered a sumptuous backdrop for our evening event. The luxurious spa inspired us all to relax, explore the feast of indulgent offerings, and get to know our sister WoW Members in style.

Spa Sales Manager, Anita Voorsluys (on the left, with Sarah from Butchart Gardens) and her team of talented estheticians showcased what makes the Willow Stream one of the top-rated spas in Victoria.

The team from Willow Stream offered soothing hand massages to WoW Members and Guests, while Kristina Valiani from B. Kamins showed that beauty could possibly be skin deep with the skin analysis machine and information session on Skin Care 101.

Guests also received a sample pack of B. Kamins skin care.

Sandy Yoachim (third from right) and her creative team from Details Special Event Planning & Décor added to the allure of the already lovely spa, and set up the sparkly WoW backdrop for our photo ops.

DJ Liam from Airwaves Music kept the tempo upbeat, and got our feet grooving while we explored the spa.

The legendary Fairmont Empress, home of the Victoria's most decadent afternoon tea and the Willow Stream Spa, provided scrumptious refreshments including finger sandwiches, sweets and hot apple cider.

In the spirit of sharing the experience of indulgence, WoW Members and Guests brought generous donations of spa and beauty products to benefit Victoria Women's Transition House. This phenomenal organization provides emergency shelter for women transitioning out of dangerous situations.

"The women often show up with just the clothes on their backs," said Theresa Negreiff, Development and Communications Manager for VWTH. "The basic necessities are often just what they need- to take a shower, to wash their hair."

Theresa and Penny shared a snapshot of what vital services the Transition House provides. To offer donations or other support, visit the VWTH website.

Spotlight Speaker Andrea Ting-Letts from SCRIBE Professional Writing, facilitated an intriguing conversation about what makes you or your business YOU-nique. Andrea's workshop, entitled "What is your WHYHow to identify your competitive edge from a place of passion" challenged each WoW Member to get real about your values, your passion, and your expertise. By expressing your business from a place of authenticity, Andrea says you will be better able to connect to the clients you really want (>>> read more about Andrea's take on finding your competitive edge).

Each guest went home with samples of B. Kamins skin care and a goody bag that included a $25 gift certificate towards a spa service at the Willow Stream.

Two lucky ladies got to take home the big prizes. Deanna McCollum from Deanna McCollum Photography was the winner of the amazing collection of products, while Dorrie Murphy from Persona Video won the basket of goodies from November's Showcase Sponsors.

Last but not least, we have Rita Steensens, WoW's Team Photographer, to thank for the gorgeous photos you see throughout this post. To see the full collection of the event photos, visit WoW's Facebook page.
