Crazy "FOUR' WoW: Celebrating 4 Years at The Ambrosia!

March 10th, 2017

WoW turned four this February, and we couldn't think of a better place to celebrate than at the Ambrosia Conference & Event Centre. With a bevy of wedding and events professionals from across the city, we had a lovely evening of networking, sharing, and raising a toast to another successful year.

Like we've come to expect from Ambrosia, their beautiful venue provided the perfect backdrop for networking and a great time. We enjoyed delicious appies our hosts. Lucky us - Ambrosia's menus are world class and prepared with fresh, fine local ingredients. We were treated to watermelon with feta and chorizo ... and of course some champagne for toasting our anniversary!

As you can see, if you're getting married in Victoria, Ambrosia is a lovely choice. They're the city's only independently owned and dedicated conference and event catering facility. They offer an exclusive venue, with two rooms that can accommodate up to 200 guests, and they provide offside catering as well (trust us - it'll be delicious!). To learn more about events at Ambrosia, please see here.

Since this was our anniversary, we had a special creative workshop. We broke into tables, each led by some of our most intrepid WoW members: Hardip Johal, Taryn Stewart, Tiffany Armstrong, Hattie Root, Amanda Lumley and Britney King. We brainstormed our 2017 WoW Calendar - what we'd like to see and do, and how to make the most of our events. We got some great feedback that we will be using right away to make our 5th year our best yet.

We also asked our leaders to share some thoughts about their experiences with WoW. Brittany Kind of Elise Tonn Designs has been with us from the very beginning (!), and she says she joined WoW to meet new people and garner lasting relationships with others in the industry. And she says she's stayed with WoW because it's fun, helps her create beneficial business relationships, and has given her knowledge (through our educational events) that has helped her in her business. And she says she appreciates getting to know other vendors and their services, so she can recommend them to her brides.

We'd also like to introduce NEW WoW Member Ra Design Studio, who was our photographer this month! We love it when new members jump right in, like Ra Fontana did at this event. Ra, clearly, has a beautiful eye and captures stunning shots.

Ra Design Studio offers a complete imaging solution for weddings, including both photography and videography services. Expect artistic attention, individualized services, and turn around times to meet your needs, timelines and budget. Learn more about Ra Design Studio here.

Like always, we ended our evening with a few words, a few parting gifts, and some fun giveaways - Kyara Kahakauwila of LA Limo, Katrina Milne of Olympic View Golf Club, Taryn Stewart of Truffles Catering, and Rod Forbes of Victoria Event Services were our lucky winners. We'd also like to thank our generous members The Butchart Gardens for donating two tickets to the Gardens with high tea!

Overall, we had a lovely evening, remembering our fantastic past year, and making plans for the year ahead. We're so looking forward to seeing our members (and our brides and grooms!) at the upcoming WoW Wedding Show, and we look forward to so much more great networking, sharing, showcasing, learning and celebrating in 2017!
