WoW goes WILD at our Summer BASH-elorette Party!!

Does this look like NETWORKING to you?

DISCLAIMER: The photos you are about to see depict actual WoW Members revealing their lighter side. These pictures are in no way an accurate representation of your actual experience when you come to a WoW Event. We try very hard not to smile, not to have fun, not to celebrate the little things in life. We are very serious business owners that take our networking events very seriously.

Sharon and Aurezo from the WoW Team

All kidding aside, we definitely had reason to celebrate:

  1. We can all agree that this summer has been blessed with some of the most gorgeous weather we have seen in many seasons.
  2. The sun continued to shine for our August event, which was held under the open sky at the Cedar Ultra Patio at the Four Points Sheraton Victoria Gateway. (True wedding professionals like us know to always have a "Plan B" but we are so grateful we didn't have to take the party inside!)
  3. Our "Bash-elorette Party" marked a momentous occasion for Women of Weddings. We raised our glasses to toast our 6-month anniversary of connecting Victoria's leaders in the wedding industry!!

Our team of Showcase Sponsors made our 6th Anniversary Bash-elorette an event to remember. Who do you recognize?

Leigh Ann (on the right, with Judi of The Wedding Expert) is used to hearing "I didn't even know this place existed" when people happen upon the chic patio nestled in the woods behind the Four Points Sheraton. WoW Members agreed that the Cedar Ultra Patio is definitely one of the West Shore's best kept secrets, and could be a perfect spot for an outdoor bachelorette soiree. Leigh Ann's team at Taste West Coast Catering got our Bash-elorette Party going with fresh mojitos, tickeld pink with local, in-season raspberries. We also sampled scrumptious pastries courtesy of Taste.

The gorgeous gals (including Monica, Kari, Caitlyn, and Krista) from Brun Body Bar demonstrated how we can "fake it 'til we make it" with the best faux bronzing tips to keep our skin safe and glowing all year long.

Liz from Avenue Weddings showcased their extensive selection of decor, stationery, supplies and accessories that make every wedding complete.

Lindsay and Derek from Four Frames Photo Booth (joined by guest Gina from Everything Wine) were on hand to capture these hilarious images of the WoW Members and Guests. Clearly they know how to get their silly on.

We ELEVATED our businesses!

Britney from Elise Tonn Designs and Wallace from Kitchens of Distinction

WoW's mission at every event is to encourage our members and guests to network, learn, showcase and share. So we got down to serious business by honing our elevator speeches. Our challenge was to introduce ourselves and our businesses in less than one minute, with the intention of keeping our audience engaged and wanting to learn more.

Then we practiced our skills by participating in Speed Networking, which is a lot like speed dating except it is completely acceptable to go home with several viable connections to call the next morning, and we are happy to share our connections with others! The goal was to get to know each other better so that we can keep building our professional relationships and refer one another to our clients.

We concluded our activity by giving each other feedback so that we can continue to grow together. It was an impressive turnout of over 40 WoW Members and Guests, and we all had a fabulous time (which you would never know from these photos...)
